Eligibility Guidelines

Winnipeg Housing provides safe and affordable housing in Winnipeg’s downtown, inner city, north end, east Kildonan, Transcona and various other areas of Winnipeg. We offer affordable and subsidized housing along with some market rent housing. For all of our rental units we follow the National Occupancy Standards (NOS) Housing Income Limit (HIL) as established by the federal government.

In addition, to be eligible applicants must be legal residents of Canada, meet Manitoba residency requirements and be at least 18 years of age.

Please note: As an applicant with Winnipeg Housing, it is your responsibility to contact us and update your application information when it changes. All changes in income and family size directly affect your eligibility and should be updated regularly. Failure to provide us with updated information could result in the cancellation of your application.
